The main objective of the program, which began in 2006, is to address this phenomenon and contribute to reducing all forms of violence against women in the cities through the promotion of women's active citizenship and developing public and social agendas that create conditions for peaceful coexistence in these places.
Since its inception, the program is structured into 4 strategic lines of action:
1. Knowledge systematization and production;
2. Strengthening women's networks;
3. Development of participatory intervention strategies in cities;
4. Awareness and training of key actors
The program planned seminars, forums and workshops, coordination and planning meetings with Network organizations, governmental counterparts and women organizations, which enhanced a) the appropriation of the project by the associated organizations, b) the development and monitoring of the work plan, and the resolution of some critical aspects of the implementation.
