The "Sustainable Development Support Program to Transport Sector" (PADDST), is funded by the European Union with an amount of 27 million Euros. It aims to increase the mobility of goods and people in the Comoros by improving the quality of the road network and creating more development resources of public and private transport conditions. The specific objectives are:
Under the 11th EDF, the EU decided to continue its support to the Government of the Comoros in the transport sector by financing particularly the rehabilitation of part of the priority roads for trade facilitation commercial (targeting the opening up of agricultural areas), promotion of multi-modality (connection to primary and secondary ports) and the adaptation of road infrastructure to climate change. Moreover institutional sustain was needed to support the achievements of the 10th EDF and continue reforms and capacity building.
The specific objective of the project is the institutional strengthening and capacity building of human and organizational resources of the road transport sector.
