Shaoxing is an ancient city, which has played a key role as a regional political, economic and cultural centre. It is well known for its cultural and physical setting. In Shaoxing, the World Bank financed ZUEP (Zehejiang Urban Environmental Project) that envisages the following environmental improvements:
• The rehabilitation of urban watercourses
• Upgrading of urban infrastructure services
• Conservation of historic sites and buildings five areas of the Old City
The objective of our assignment is to measure project impacts and to strengthen monitoring of outcomes in accordance with defined indicators for the Shaoxing component of the ongoing Zhejiang Urban Environmental Project (ZUEP).
