The project aimed at improving environmental awareness of the rural populations affected by the Lesotho Highlands Water Project.
The joint-venture group selected for implementing the project was headed by our firm, and had to provide technical assistance on a long-term basis.
Specific objectives of the project are the following:
• Analysis of existing environmental problems and potential threats;
• Identification of target groups;
• Implementation of effective environmental awareness communication methodologies for targeted groups;
• Development and implementation of a general plan for environmental awareness and government staff training;
• Preparation of audio-visual material;
• Evaluation and formulation of a set of recommendations and proposals for the development of future initiatives.
