Within its cooperation programme with Peru and in the bicentenary context of Peru independency in 2021, the European Commission has envisaged to support an initiative for the revitalization of European-Peruvian Cultural Heritage. To this end, the Commission has assigned a non-reimbursable contribution of 900.000 EUR; through the Program “Medidas de Apoyo” (support measures) that is part of the EU-Peru bilateral cooperation.

The objective of the assignment is the realization of a study to identify possible support measures for Cultural Heritage. Specifically, the objective is to identify a building, monument or site that can be valorized and emblematic for relations Peru-EU that could be restored/valorized for 2021 bicentenary celebration of Peru independency.

Valorization initiatives include conservation works for the identified building, monument or site; measures promoting its accessibility and visibility.
