The general objective of the project is to strengthen the management of the cultural heritage of the Historic Centre of Lima (HCL), using sustainable models with a social dimension. The specific objectives are the following:
- “The Great Cultural Route of Lima”: Identification and conceptualization of a Cultural Itinerary, in the HCL, that promotes the dynamization and economy of the cultural sector (areas, categories and agents) and the knowledge, importance and preservation of the cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) of the HCL to strengthen the identity and social ownership of the citizens of Lima.
- “Lima, Creole Culture - Criolla Route”: Identification and conceptualization of a Cultural Itinerary, including the establishment of a "Criolla House" in the HCL, establishing an itinerary between places of reference of the Peruvian Creole culture. The design proposal of the House of Creole Culture includes the planning of events/activities, seeking the strengthening and reproduction of Creole culture, including a sustainable management model that allows the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage, as well as the strengthening of citizen participation.
- Cultural heritage management: Definition and implementation of a programme of seminars and workshops on European experience in public-private management of cultural heritage sites, as well as economically sustainable activities.
At the same time, the project provided advice in various areas of specialisation related to the Cultural Route, the Creole Route, public-private management of cultural heritage, with a focus on a cultural programme that broadens the social and cultural dimension of the HCL.
