The EDF 10 project's objective was to strengthen the current and future capacity of public institutions to effectively formulate, implement and monitor sound and sustainable economic governance that is both pro-growth and developmental in its focus and application.

The specific objective of the project was to contribute to quantitative and qualitative improvement of EDF programmes and projects, through enhancing the capacity in development planning, programming and implementation of the NAO in Liberia, and more specifically reinforcing the organisation and the functioning of the office of the NAO and to build up its ability to manage the European Development Fund.

The NAO office strengthened human and institutional capacity is crucial to formulate policies, design and implement development programmes and deliver quality services to meet the country’s development priorities and support economic governance. The project included a wide range of interventions through Programme Estimates and Long-Term technical Assistance, and works contracts for the construction of a new NAO Office in Monrovia.

The global objective of the evaluation is to provide the relevant external co-operation services of the European Union, the partner government and the wider public with an overall independent assessment of the past performance of the intervention Support to the NAO Office – Liberia.
