The overall objective of the program to which this project belongs is to support the economic and development integration process in Central America. The program aims mainly to sustain the regional economic integration process by supporting trade facilitation in Central America and the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union.  The final purpose is to support the creation of the Central American Customs Union, the laws, mutual and standardized regulations and documents, while building and improving the technical tools for adequate operationalization. The program also aims to facilitate dialogue between the organizations in charge for economic integration process together with the private sector and civil society in general, while improving the level of training and information activities of these same organizations on economic integration.

The project purpose is to provide assistance for the preparation and implementation of courses, workshops and other events aimed at the formation of project intervention country officials and members of civil society,  private and academic sectors.

The specific objectives are:

  1. Support the adoption and strengthening of common tools and mechanisms for the facilitation of intra-regional trade and switch on the commitments undertaken by Central America in the trade component of the Association Agreement.
  2. Promote increased awareness and involvement of stakeholders in the process of economic integration.
  3. Support the coordination and strengthening of the regional institutions.

The technical assistance is mainly required to provide the necessary support to sustain the SIECA (The Secretariat for Economic Integration) in its functions of implementation the education and training activities in the Programme Budget.

The Services provided by our staff within the assignment:

Prepare and conduct courses, workshops, seminars and other events to provide education and training to officials from region-countries and members of the private, academic and civil society sectors on issues of economic regional integration and the implementation of commitments for Central America in the framework of EU - Central America Partnership Agreement until March 2017.

  • Preparation and realization of the logistic and academic issues of 53 seminars and workshops for a total of 233 days.
  • 46 additional days for others academic activities and short term technical assistance missions.
  • Coordination and conduct of the visibility of the project through development of advertising materials: USB, folder, pens, notebooks and other materials for distribution to / beneficiaries of training events in Central America. Development of Roll Up, advertising blankets, flags, templates conference presentations, branded signage project; according to the requirements of Manual brand SIECA / PRAIAA and Visibility Manual of the European Union.

Activities take place in all member countries of the economic integration subsystem of Central America.
