The objective of the assignment was to prepare a Gender Country Profile for Lesotho, which the Government of Lesotho, Delegation of the European Union and Member States may use to:

• Prepare gender-sensitive development response strategies, programmes and projects to be implemented by Government of Lesotho, Delegation of the European Union and Member States;
• Contribute to the political dialogue.

The gender analysis provided an understanding whether gender inequalities persist in Lesotho and its causes, how it intersects with other inequalities, how it impacts on human rights enjoyment and/or benefits produced by and access to development efforts as well as an understanding of the government’s commitment and capacity to work on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment issues.
