The overall objective of this mission is to stimulate and strengthen the bi-national dialogue between Haiti and the Dominican Republic under the auspices of the Joint Bilateral Commission. The specific objective is to reinforce the technical capacity and strategic planning on the Dominican side of the bilateral Joint Commission in the exercise of its statutory mandate.
Services provided:
1. Strengthen planning and monitoring the involved BCM institutions on the main axes of the bi-national dialogue and the Executive Secretariat of BCM;
2. Train the personnel of the Executive Secretariat and the focal points of the subcommittees of BCM in negotiation techniques, management and conflict resolution as well as other cross-cutting issues relating to bilateral relations;
3. Propose joint working mechanisms and procedures between the Dominican and Haitian part of the BCM agreed by both parties;
4. Develop coordination mechanisms and exchange of information between the BCM and the High Level Dialogue Commission, the BCM and the private sector, BCM and civil society, BCM and binational Observatory and BCM and funders of bilateral cooperation.
