Projects evaluated during the mission were as follows: 1. "Strengthening and qualification of basic education and improvement of the social conditions of children and young people in the marginal areas of Addis Ababa", implemented by the International Committee for the Development of Peoples, with the participation of the local ONG Pro Pride. The main purpose of the project is synergistic cooperation between Ethiopian and Italian government, as part of overall strategy to fight poverty, in order to improve living conditions of children and adolescents in the marginal areas of Addis Ababa. The specific objective is to increase significantly the access and the quality of educational services provided in order to encourage concrete improvements in the lives of children and poor families in the selected areas through integrated actions. 2. "Social and economic development, promotion and preservation of cultural heritage of Konso Special Woreda" implemented by the ONG CISS - International Cooperation South South. The project was born from a study on a population of Cushitic Rift Valley: the Konso. The initiative was finalized to contribute to the improvement of their social and economic conditions in educational and health fields through the valorisation of specific natural and cultural resources. 8 Konso villages have been targeted for a total of 14,000 people. 3. "For the protection of children's rights: Prevention and rehabilitation programs for street children in Addis Ababa", implemented by the ONG VIS - International Volunteers for Development. The main purpose of the project was finalized to recovery and social reintegration of the “street children”, their literacy and professional training in order to allow their reintegration into the society and the labor market. The experts conducted an independent evaluation following the criterion of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability.
