The overall objective of the project of which this contract is be a part was to support diversification, by further supporting development of alternative economic activities in the agricultural and other productive sectors. The specific objectives were: - To provide web-based solution for the Companies Name Registry with a common interface using the Government’s Official Web Portal and compatible with CIPO’s Business Name Registry Application and Intellectual Property Web based System (IPAS) already developed. - To reduce the duplication of data and operations through the inter-operation of common information shared across the two services mentioned above. The Consultants were required to consult with all relevant stakeholders, including prospective end-users of the system (internal and external), in the execution of all stages of the system’s development process. The consultants had to produce a number of deliverables including: A. The automation of CIPO services with a development of two main Information Systems: • An “Internal” Information System/database, including functionality for document management, for CIPO department; • Web Services for public user (companies/individuals). B. The automation of CIPO department services pertains to: • Development of the system for the “Companies Registry”. The system has to include the complete automated workflow for managing the following type of companies: Domestic for profit; External; Non profit and Governmental; • Development of the system’s “Business Names Registry” starting from the pilot system already developed and developing the extension of the system with further functionalities. For each e-service, the Information System for CIPO department needs to be in accordance with technical standards agreed to by Ministry of Telecommunications, Science, Technology and Industry for the e-government solution.
