The overall objective of the project of which this assignment is a part is to provide ancillary investments to contribute to the sustainable use of infrastructure handed over under the 2006 Solid Waste Sector Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community, in compliance with the requirements of the acquis communautaire. The purpose of this specific assignment is to prepare the engineering designs and to formulate the tender documents of the following investments: 1. A leachate treatment unit handling leachate generated both at the landfill of Koutsoventis/Güngör and at the closed dumpsite at Dikomo/Dikmen; 2. Phase 2 works of the municipal landfill at Koutsoventis/Güngör; 3. The supply of additional waste trucks; 4. The delivery of technical assistance during the tendering and contracting phases and prepare budgetary estimates and terms of reference of the pertaining supervision services.
