Technical education and vocational training are still widely considered by Gabonese society not as a learning of a "know-how" for entry into the labor market, but as a remedy for those excluded from the general education, allowing to further studies through obtaining a professional degree. This is how, in the context of cooperation between Gabon and the European Commission, the Training and Professional Integration supporting Program (AFIP) has been formulated. This Program aims transversely to the establishment of a wide and continuous partnership between training centers, economic operators and public institutions with the purpose to redefine the training offer with regard to realities of the labor market and their developments in the medium and long term. More specifically, the program applies to develop the organization, skills and resources of the most successful centers of vocational training in Gabon, in partnership with companies operating in their respective employment area, by training 3.000 school leavers and disadvantaged in professions relevant to the needs identified in hands-work in the medium term. This Technical Assistance has as main task to support national authorities and the project team in the decision process, implementation and monitoring of actions planned to achieve the program objectives. Transversally, the main objective of the program is to strengthen the ownership and participation of actors involved in the device in order to the AFIP outcome: 1. technical Ministry in charge (Ministry of National Education, Higher and Technical Education and Vocational Education), project manager for this project replicates the approach of motivation and supporting actors in the sector to promote the employment of young people; 2. training centers and, where appropriate, technical and vocational schools developing training projects in partnership with the productive sector that meets the needs and integration capabilities in their respective employment area; 3. the productive sector recognizes the value of the device and actively participates, including its founding.
