The overall objective of the project is to create strong and effective social dialogue and tripartite cooperation between the Government, Trade Unions and Employers in Eritrea, creating opportunities for economic and social development; and to improve the policies, services and operational capacity of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW), in order to strengthen its role in the social dialogue in Eritrea. The specific objectives are: • The National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW) internal organization developed • Increased Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy • Promotional and public relations campaigns structured and improved • Economic function Unit established within the NCEW • Policy development function established within the NCEW • Trade union skills of NCEW members improved • Capacity of the NCEW to negotiate enhanced • Increased membership in trade unions • Regional and international trade union cooperation strengthened
