The objective of the assignment was to upgrade ASEZA’s capacity to contribute to the development of the zone, through technical assistance, infrastructure, equipment and training in three sectors: Tourism: development of a sustainable professional capability leading to the establishment of a world standard tourist industry in all it’s aspects; Trade: upgrading the post-audit and inspection units within ASEZA; Environment and food laboratories: preparing laboratories and environmental monitoring stations, their staff and operating procedures to meet the requirements for certification and accreditation to international standards. The Uncertainty Estimation Expert (UEE) has assisted the Laboratories to revise the uncertainty budgets for the 10 parameters to be accredited and in training the staff to realize the parameters that affect the uncertainty for different tests, the components that contribute to uncertainty budget, in addition to building uncertainty budget.
