Following the unexpected change of government in Georgia in late 2003-early 2004 and the subsequent new opportunities to accelerate reforms there, the European Commission has decided to support a project to establish a Centre for European Studies at Tbilisi State University (TSU). The wider objective of this project is, first, to assess the conditions for establishing a Centre for European Studies at TSU and its branches and other State Universities in Georgia, and second, to prepare and present detailed Terms of Reference for a TACIS project.
