The main objective of SYRENE Programme is to contribute to food safety and fight against poverty strengthening the whole cycle of livestock production from the beginning to the end. The specific objective is to strengthen and develop the structure and organization of the handicraft and industrial smallest enterprises to make them productive. The project SYRENE developed technologies aiming at providing solutions to problems, previously identified. Among them, the project designed and carried out the manufacturing of self-locking paving, using a blend of sand and plastic bags (polyethylene and polypropylene). This assignment aims at assessing the technical economic and environmental sustainability of synthetic paving produced, as provided by SYRENE Programme, for the creation of vehicular roads.
