The 9th EDF Civil Society Capacity Building Programme (CSCBP) represents the first large-scale civil society funding through government and reflects government’s attempt towards diversifying service delivery and providing space for civil society in the national policy dialogue. Its overall objective is to make government, donor policies and programmes increasingly responsive to the demands of the more vulnerable sections of the population. The specific purpose is to enable Civil Society Organisations to engage effectively with government, the private sector and donor agencies in the development process. The Mid term review of the CSCPB is a requirement stated in the Financing Agreement. Its main purpose is to assess the progress made to date, to identify constraints faced by the programme and to make recommendations for the implementation of the remaining programme period.
