The general objectives were to promote free, fair and efficient elections in Bangladesh. ARS had to find a strategy to help strengthen the capacity of the Bangladesh Election Commission to make transparent and efficient elections and to arise awareness in the public, especially among women, regarding their political and civil rights. The global prospective would be to promote good governance and democracy on the long term.
