The project’s overall objective is “to accelerate the process of regional integration of SADC member countries, and their integration in the world economy, and to strengthen the ability of the population to monitor the Government’s performance and to hold them to account by improving the availability of relevant, timely and accurate statistical data”. Its purpose is “to assist countries in the region improve the availability of relevant statistical data through enhancing human resource capacity for the production and utilisation of official statistics that are required for policy formulation, decision making and general use in Member States”.
