Video surveillance systems are essential in providing effective security in prisons facilities. The overall objective of the project of which this assignment is a part is the establishment of an adequate security system in the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions through establishing of functional video surveillance system, with the aim of increasing efficiency and administrative capacities of the Institute, the safety standards and protection of human rights.

The purpose of this assignment is to deliver a Report on improvement of the system of video surveillance in the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, aiming at providing an overall analysis on the conditions in Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions - IECS related to existing video surveillance system. This analysis is the foundation for the establishment of the improved video surveillance system by providing specific guidelines on technical specification and specification for necessary construction works, through the use of modern communication technology and data protection mechanisms aligned to the EU standards.

Results to be achieved:

1. Result 1:Analysis of the current situation of the video surveillance system in IECS
2. Result 2: Needs analysis related to the video surveillance system by organisational units or facilities under video surveillance in the IECS in accordance with the competencies of prison monitoring officers
3. Result 3: Development of specifications for hardware (cameras and video equipment, computers and computer equipment, servers and server equipment) and software for monitoring
4. Result 4: Analysis and development of specifications for construction works
5. Result 5: Development of the Report on improvement of the video surveillance system
