The Gender Peace and Security programme managed by the African Union within peace and security department has been launched in 2014. Its main objective is to mainstream gender into the African Peace and Security Architecture and take into account men and women experiences and potentialities in building secured and stable societies.

This assignment provided support to the African Union in the implementation of this programme. The overall objective is to support the African Union (AU) Commission to achieve its mandate in the implementation of the AU gender strategy.

The specific objective of this assignment is to provide the African Union Commission (AUC) with technical assistance on women, peace and security, gender knowledge management and communication.
