The Republic of Albania has applied for an EBRD loan of up to USD 50 million to finance the works and works supervision for the rehabilitation of regional and local roads network in Albania. The implementing agency for the Project is the Albanian Development Fund.
The Project finances a part of the overall investment program for the rehabilitation of 12 key sections of the regional and local roads network in Albania with a total length of approximately 200 km.
Te aim of the Project is to improve the quality of road service and road safety and reduce vehicle operating costs and travel time and will also contribute to improving resilience of the regional and local roads to the impacts of climate change.
The entity responsible for implementing the Project is a Project Implementation Unit (“PIU”) within the Albanian Development Fund, which required an expertise to support the PIU in carrying out the overall project management, meeting the required financing documentation and capacity support to carry out in timely manner the contracts envisaged under this project. Therefore, the overall objective of the Assignment is to facilitate the timely and effective implementation of the Project by providing assistance to the Albanian Development Fund and to Project Implementation Unit.
