In several areas of Africa, when entering the territory of another tribe, one is required to bear a special "passport mask". This has a profound meaning: to neutralise one's roots and individuality as a sign of respect to those whose territory is being entered. In this there is an ancient wisdom, the sublimation of humanity's neutral essence. Quoting Aeschylus Agamemnon "Provided they respect the temples and the Gods of the vanquished, then shall the victors be saved".

ARS Progetti is a consulting firm working all over the world providing services, such as surveys, studies, design and technical assistance, mainly to public committers and for public interests, in fields related with governance and human development, culture and cultural heritage, social and physical infrastructure. Its overall mission is of a professional nature and consists in finding out, proposing and helping to implement solutions "which work", with reference to complex problems affecting extended social groups, regions, countries, groups of countries. Assistant Project Manager – Cultural Heritage Department

JOB / DESCRIPTION DU TRAVAILLE
POSITION:Assistant Project Manager
COUNTRY / PAYS: Rome, Italy; and missions abroad
STARTING DATE / DATE DE DEMARRAGE: as soon as possible
DURATION / DUREE: 1-year renewable. trial period 3 months.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE / OBJECTIVE GENERAL:
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, APPLICATION SERVICES AND EXPECTED RESULTS / OBJECTIVES PARTICULIERS, SERVICES DEMANDES ET RÉSULTATS A ATTEINDRE:
The resource will mainly assist the Director of Culture and Cultural Heritage sector and the Project Managers in the following activities:
Business Development: Monitoring of international call for tenders, prepare Expression of Interest, and assistance in preparation of bids for International Donors (EU, WB, UNESCO, etc) especially in Developing and Emerging Countries.
Project Management: monitoring of the budget, resources and time-schedule; administrative management of the contract with the client and with the experts; organization of field missions, coordination and backstopping support to international experts.
Provide specific expertise in projects where his/her professional experience is compatible.
Willing to travel for short-medium missions (up to one month) in developing countries and Gulf Area.
QUALIFICATION: Master Degree in cultural or cultural heritage management, tourism, archaeology, planning, architecture.
5 years of professional experience in the areas of cultural heritage or public investment to support cultural industry or cultural tourism, some of which in international cooperation projects and/or call for proposal/tenders for International Donors (EU, WB, UNESCO). Previous experience with a consulting firm would be appreciated.
Excellent knowledge and use of main software, such as Windows Office, Photoshop, power point, some project management software such as Primavera.
Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory; spoken Italian is requested for non-Italians. Excellent ability to write and edit reports or other written materials.
Driving license required, capable to drive also during missions abroad.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / EXPÉRIENCE SPÉCIFIQUE: The candidate must be proactive, hard worker, result-oriented, passionate on culture and cultural heritage. Self-sufficient with problem solving skills. Capable to work under stress. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Passionate in travelling.
WORK LANGUAGE / LANGUE DE TRAVAIL: Italian and English mandatory, French and/or Spanish a plus
