Architect Restorer
Architect, specialized in in Physical and Chemical Techniques for the Monitoring, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties, 30 years professional experience in analysis, conservation and restoration of cultural heritage with a special focus on stone surfaces, artworks and decorative elements.
Through this experience, he gained a sound knowledge of:
- analysis of cultural heritage materials;
- diagnosis of the principal decay mechanisms on historic materials, particularly stone;
- testing of restoration materials and technologies;
- management of multidisciplinary scientific teams;
- capacity building and training for restoration and conservation students and professionals.
He teaches in specializations and university graduate and post graduate courses since 1996.
He has supervised and coordinated assessment, analysis and restoration interventions for major historic/archaeological heritage throughout Italy.
Furthermore, he collaborated with ARS Progetti within the Consultancy Services for Baalbek and Tyre Archaeological Project (Lebanon) for the part concerning the assessment and restoration of the archaeological monuments` surfaces.
