GENERAL OBJECTIVE / OBJECTIVE GENERAL: The overall objective of the mission is to contribute to good programming and an effective implementation of EU cooperation actions in the Dominican Republic (DR).
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, APPLICATION SERVICES AND EXPECTED RESULTS / OBJECTIVES PARTICULIERS, SERVICES DEMANDES ET RÉSULTATS A ATTEINDRE:
The purpose of this contract is to assist the EU Delegation to the DR in the preparation of a Programme to prevent gender-based violence in all its manifestations. In particular, the programme will aim at improving good governance in public management of the response to gender-based violence, fostering mainly prevention (with a special focus on children and youth), awareness and early detection as well as collection and dissemination of data.
QUALIFICATION: Qualifications and skills ·
Master’s Degree Academic level or equivalent professional experience in the fields of Gender studies, Human Rights, Economics, Social Sciences, International relations, political science, development studies, law, or a related discipline.
General professional experience ·
At least 12 years’ experience in the sector related to the lot. ·
Good knowledge of international practices around prevention of GBV programmes and projects
Specific professional experience ·
A minimum of eight (8) years of experiences in designing, implementing and/or evaluation of socio and economic development programmes or Gender Equality and Women Empowerment programmes.
Proven experience in designing or implementing gender based violence programmes for Government or development partners, with a particular attention on prevention and change of cultural and social norms.
Demonstrated recent experience in working with national gender policies in developing countries
Knowledge of the DR civil society sector, including women organisations will be an advantage.
Specific experience on gender equality and gender-based violence in Dominican Republic or other ACP countries will be an asset. ·
Proven experience in conducting related desktop research, systemic reviews and surveys in Human Rights, women's empowerment and gender based-violence issues will be an asset.
