A.R.S. PROGETTI’S PERCEPTION



In several areas of Africa, when entering the territory of another tribe, one is required to bear a special "passport mask". This has a profound meaning: to neutralise one's roots and individuality as a sign of respect to those whose territory is being entered. In this there is an ancient wisdom, the sublimation of humanity's neutral essence. Quoting Aeschylus Agamemnon "Provided they respect the temples and the Gods of the vanquished, then shall the victors be saved".

ARS Progetti is a consulting firm working all over the world providing services, such as surveys, studies, design and technical assistance, mainly to public committers and for public interests, in fields related with governance and human development, culture and cultural heritage, social and physical infrastructure. Its overall mission is of a professional nature and consists in finding out, proposing and helping to implement solutions "which work", with reference to complex problems affecting extended social groups, regions, countries, groups of countries. Working on this ARS Progetti pursues the interest of its direct and "indirect" clients and project beneficiaries.

Identification of support for the progressive achievement of the SDGs targets and goals in Thailand and Malaysia

JOB / DESCRIPTION DU TRAVAILLE
POSITION:One (1) category II expert will be required for a minimum of 100 working days.
COUNTRY / PAYS: Thailand and Malaysia
based in Kuala Lumpur , local and International travels
STARTING DATE / DATE DE DEMARRAGE: September 2017
DURATION / DUREE: 12 months
GENERAL OBJECTIVE / OBJECTIVE GENERAL: To ensure a swift preparation of future programmes that aim at the progressive achievement of the SDGs targets and goals.
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, APPLICATION SERVICES AND EXPECTED RESULTS / OBJECTIVES PARTICULIERS, SERVICES DEMANDES ET RÉSULTATS A ATTEINDRE:
1. To identify areas for future support to the SDG process in graduated Asian countries.
2. To promote exchange of experiences in order to enhance the visibility and awareness raising of the SDGs in Thailand and Malaysia.
QUALIFICATION: At least Master Degree in political sciences, international relations, development studies, public administration or related subject or equivalent professional experience of at least 10 years3 in the sector, if the candidate does not possess a Master Degree.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / EXPÉRIENCE SPÉCIFIQUE: Experience
 At least 6 years of professional experience related to international development cooperation.
 3 At least 6 year's experience in the Sector as required for Category II Experts plus an extra 4 years specific experience if the Expert does not possess at least a Master as indicated.
 Previous experience in 2 decentralisation / localisation assignments.
 Excellent skills in drafting reports, as evidenced by 3 previous assignments requiring such deliverables.
 Strong inter-personality and excellent skills in facilitating relations, as evidenced through at least 3 previous assignments in facilitating multi-stakeholder processes;

Experience in the following field would be considered an asset:
 Prior experience in facilitating exchanges of learning and knowledge sharing among civil servants/ civil society organisations in Asia.
 Proven skills in drafting communication materials on complex issues for the public.
 Prior experience in working with the implementation of MDG/SDG processes in Asia is an asset.
WORK LANGUAGE / LANGUE DE TRAVAIL: English and Good Bahasa Malaysia expression both orally and in writing would be considered an asset
